Each pre-assembled cartridge slides easily into place, providing superior mechanical and chemical filtration, and making replacement fast, dry and effortless. The cartridge mechanically filters water through a pad of double thick poly-fiber. Debris and waste particles are trapped, and water is chemically filtered through Marineland Black Diamond® Premium Activated Carbon.
Inside the cartridge, a patented ribbed backing ensures even distribution of activated carbon to deliver maximum water-to-carbon contact. The result? Crystal clear, crystal clean water.
3 Stage Filtration
- Mechanical Filtration: The Penguin Rite-Size cartridge filters out dirt and debris while the ribbed back evenly distributes activated carbon for maximum water contact and clarity.
- Chemical Filtration: Inside the cartridge, Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon removes odors, discoloration, and water impurities. Replace filter cartridge monthly since carbon deactivates with use.
- Biological Filtration: The BIO-Wheel technology delivers superior wet/dry biological filtration for nitrifying bacteria growth…eliminating toxic ammonia and nitrite fast!
